This group will write a program simulator to simulate the behavior of a LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol – IEEE 802.3 Ethernet. Our goal is to successfully simulate the support of both the asynchronous data traffic and synchronous multimedia traffic that includes voice and video. We will also be comparing their performance under various traffic loads in terms of delay, delay jitter, and throughput. We will be writing the simulator program in Java, running and testing on a Windows operating system platform.
