This was my first attempt at doing a Rogue Like Hackathon, and first attempt at building a Rogue like at all! I didn't come very prepared :-/ So My game didn't turn out all that awesome. My bigges mistake was not having a good understanding on how Flixel (the game library I use) Tile mapping api worked, blah... Oh well, next time will be better!
I got the idea for this game from a friend, he had came up with this awesome idea of making something very much like minecraft, but what if the game was focused more on creating tools out of the objects you collect? Then like being able to use those new tools to get through certain obstacles you encounter... You'd essentially mine the pixels of the objects, then combine those limited amount of pixels into a new object that you could then use. Each Pixel you collect from killing an enemy could be of a different elemental type, and so on. Anyways I was so excited that I spent two hours to make a prototype for the idea.
