When running Microsoft Lync, Lync will make itself the default handler for tel: uris. When using the click to dial web browser extensions, this causes Lync to try and handle the phone number instead of the .net client. Deploying this Addin will make sure that the client will handle the phone number.
These handlers can be used to call external web services from handlers or listen to inbound requests and respond to them.
The click to call plugins will turn phone numbers on web pages into clickable links. When clicking the links, the tel: uri is called for external applications like the desktop Interaction Client to handle. It can also use the web client to dial numbers if it is running in another tab.

This webservice is an example of how to attach a chat transcript to an activity in Salesforce. Chat logs have to be uploaded as attachments because Salesforce has a size limit of 255 characters for text fields. The UploadChatTranscript handler can be called from ObjectDisconnectMonitor and will send the call id and the recording id to the c# web service. The web service will lookup the associated Task, download the transcript from recorder and attach it to the Task.
These are customizations used in our demo environment

The purpose of the dynamic IVR is to let the flow of the IVR to be controlled by a web service which can lead to a more powerful and dynamic IVR. This guide will be using Ruby on Rails to power the web service, but any kind of web service that supports soap and follows the same WSDL can be used with these handlers. For web services that might have a slightly different WSDL, some modifications of the handlers might be necessary.
