shaluz / Indoor-Skeleton-Modelling-Using-Ultrasonic-Sensors
In this project, you can build a 3D model of the room you are walking through, using sensors and arduino to capture the distance and then plot it in the PC using Openl graphics. this project was done by me and my 2 friends. here, we have used a 'ping' distance sensor to measure the distances to the first obstruction from where you are standing. these sensors are interfaced using arduino microcontroller (you wil get the program for it from the software itself which is for 1 sensor, we did with 4 sensors). we used 4 sensors to measure the distances upward, downward, left and right. Using these 4 measures you build a cubic model. i have kept the forward distance constant here. you can build the model of the scale you want to. we have developed program using OpenGL to build the wired 3D model from these distances that you receive. we developed this code in python. so we used the python serial port to receive the distances. i have uploaded the OpenGL code 'original.py'. the circuit for interfacing arduino and sensor is a normal circuit involving resistors. also, we have added switches to denote the direction of our movement through the room. i.e, if you press the button that is meant for left direction, the model will be developed towards the left, if right button then towards the right. in short, you get the whole path that you walk through. the arduino microcontroller used here is arduino dueminalove.
