Their inability to match the Reds upfront had a dire effect on their attacking game plan and they were never allowed to get in a dominant position.

Several changes have been made to the side nominated to take on the Waratahs, most surprising being the starting berth awarded to halfback Brendon Leonard, who didn’t seem to cope well under pressure.

Fritz Lee and Andrew Horrell also got promoted off the bench, the latter receiving the 15 jersey in place of Gareth Anscombe, which might be an indication that they’ll be looking to penetrate the line from the back with Horrell running at holes to collect an offload or two – something he got accustomed to by playing alongside SBW. Patrick Osborne has fallen victim to the rotation system, I guess, unless he’s been injured, whilst Tim Nanai-Williams slips to the bench in order to make room for full-of-running Lelia Masaga. In the light of Bundee Aki’s suspension, Richard Kahui shifts to inside center as Charlie Ngatai slots in beside him.
