The researchers used Moodle’s Quiz module to assess phonetics, provide instant student feedback and monitoring of student progress.  Aside from a plugin to enable the use of International Phonetic Alphabet with Moodle’s text editor all of the tools were standard and off the shelf (the poster includes a link to the plugin as well as additional information).
