"Mortal Kernel": A complete bootloader + kernel with protected mode, multi-tasking environment, shell, system calls, FAT32 file system, keyboard driver, and the ability to execute ELF binaries. Can be booted from a floppy, or in emulator such as VMWare player or Bochs (QEMU has problems). Completed in a team of 3 people (Lionel Duc, Martin Wakkac, and Kyrylo Perelygin).

A re-implementation of the malloc functions (malloc, realloc, calloc, free). It is quite fast, thread-safe, and merges blocks for a better fit.
