I started working on this when I started to get interested in serious Javascript development. I had previously used Javascript just to implement small effects on web pages etc. I was reading Jurgen Appelo's Management 3.0 where he describes the idea of the "Game of Life", I founded it very interesting and thougt I could try to implement it with Javascript. I hope I can some day re-visit this with a more efficient algorithm and maybe a different grapics implementation (maybe canvas would work better))
What I needed was just to have a tag generated automatically. I know the maven release plugin does this and much more.. but I didn't need the "much more" part.
I wanted to try to implement "live documentation". Basically this reads the source code of the unit tests in the project and generates both .doc and .xls documents of them. The documents contain the requirements and the method used to test them.
