Adobe AIR allows to create rich internet applications for iOS. It also allows the use of native extensions, which in turn use the frameworks and libraries of the iOS SDK. To make use of the latest iOS features, the latest iOS SDK is required, which is not available on Windows. However, the AIR packager, ADT allows to use any iOS SDK the user prefers for packaging even on a Windows machine, using the -platformsdk switch.
